10 nightmare

have tried twice in the last few weeks to upgrade to w10,1st time i lost my dvd/recorder/player plus assorted files, this time i lost my picture files,document files, download files, internet and email accounts plus some bits & pieces. Never Again.

Very sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience with your upgrade(s) to Windows 10.

I can certainly understand that sentiment.
As a bit of... after the fact / not much help at this point.
When considering any task as sophisticated, complex and potentially risky (although Microsoft would love us to believe otherwise), it is always a good idea to have a comprehensive backup strategy in place to guard against unforeseen circumstances.

I know..... that ship has sailed and Elvis has left the building, but.....
For the future, in the event that you should ever consider or decide to revisit the upgrade option, or....
Just as a general, best practice procedure, to guard against data loss from other possible catastrophic events (like hard disk failure).
