Acronis or Emsisoft?

Would anyone care to comment on the question, Acronis or Emsisoft?

You are comparing apples and oranges. Acronis is a HDD tool for backups (images) and Emsisoft sells Antivirus software solutions.

I am using Acronis True Image for years and I am very happy with it though I am using older versions as 2011 and 2014 not the newest ones.

Emsisoft I have never used. Maybe someone else can say something about it....

When I first opened this thread to read the comments I'm sure there was a recommended list but it's disappeared.

I use Acronis for backups and I'm very pleased with it - it works very well and I trust that the backups it takes. It works silently in the background and I haven't noticed much of a performance hit when I use it.

I suppose that one of the things that impressed me about Emsisoft is the regularity of messages mentioning updates or is that just marketing?
