I just last week replaced a similar drive, a Seagate 1TB and it was a SATA, similar model number. The replacement was a Samsung, also similar model and number number. On the 1751 image the data and power sockets are on the right of the back edge of the drive, look like 2 bars. The other type drive is PATA, has 40 pins for the data cable and 4 pins for the power.

Iceboy. If you had just typed that model number into Google it would have given you the answer in the first result.

From your own picture the connectors show it is SATA.

I never realised to be honest Tim...Can you get any of these docks on ebay?..plus it's got win7 on it, so can I format it as soon as I get it.

That's more of a permanent solution, like an external hard drive, and only works with 2.5" hard drives (small laptop hard drives). If that's a regular desktop hard drive, you need something compatible with a 3.5" hard drive.

Thanks BigFeet.. it's a bit of a minefield when you've not done before. It's definitely from a desktop.
