Can't open e-mails on Goggle Chrome

I use Edge and Chrome. Suddenly when I log in, messages all
appear but when I try and open them I get a blank page.
This blank NEVER opens up to reveal a message.

Does this happen with both Edge and Chrome, or just one of them? Which email service are you using (Yahoo, Gmail etc.)?

EDIT: What version of windows? (Right click start, click run, enter winver)

This problem is just on Google, not Edge, or Firefox. I use Outlook/hotmail

As an experiment, try turning off Controlled folder access. Open Windows Defender Security Center. Open Virus & threat protection. Open Ransomware Protection.







EDIT: I had to turn it off in order to save these screen shots. Now I'll add the print screen program as an allowed program, so I can turn Ransomware Protection back on!

I'm not sure why but logged into Chrome just now and it suddenly
works. Thanks to all who tried to help.
