I cannot access my own pictures, videos and music without right clicking and using "open with". If I double click the files, I get "Class Not Registered". How can I fix this issue?

Welcome to forums.

It could be you have a corrupt user profile but there something to try.

1. Re-register ExplorerFrame.dll

  • Open Command Prompt as administrator.
  • Type regsvr32 ExplorerFrame.dll and press "Enter"

Hi Ralph,

Welcome to the Forum.

Your description makes it seem Windows has forgotten the Default settings for apps to open the various media formats you are wanting to view. That can happen when installing a new OS or a third party app that might try to take default status.

Click Start > Settings > Apps > then in left pane select Default apps

Scroll through to see if you need to change any, or failing that use the Reset option to reset default apps to those Microsoft Recommends.

Regards,
