SOLVED Critical error

On bottom of screen to left of Search web and windows . when clicking get message " critical error your start menue is not working , we will try to fix it next time you sign in , Nothing changed when sign in again . Search web and windows also does not operate. appreciate assistance

After going through all the 'fixes' other users had tried (none worked), I deleted my Dropbox as a last resort, and now there isn't an issue. Even after re-installing Dropbox, everything is ok - but don't know for how long. It appears that there are several 'add-ons' like this that can cause issues ... can take hours to figure out! MS is aware of the problem; and claims to be "working on it".

I have not used Dropbox but do have it available. Could I ask, when you set it up, were you syncing files with it or just going there when you needed to?

It looks like the OP may not be around but if there was some type of conflict with OneDrive and Dropbox both syncing with your system, I could see a possible problem.

Reset computer to a time before the problem started , which included dropbox , on starting up next morning , all systems worked fine , many many thanks for all the ideas , sugestions posted , tried most and last one worked.!
