Emails suddnly disappearing from inbox

Some of my emails suddenly disappeared from my inbox. Is there a way of retrieving them from the server.

Which of the several email systems do you use on your PC and who is your email provider.
Without this information there can be no answer.

As Tim says.
But, all email, whether Gmail, Microsoft, etc, is handled by an ISP (an internet provider. You do not have any details of where you live, etc, but this could be your local telephone provider.

Do a search for their site and log in. This login you should have on record, or, possibly, on your bills. In any case, a quick communication will give you the details.
On their site, will be the Email section , which will, at least temporarily, have all your email stored, for your examination.

I am using the mail app which came with my windows 10 computer. The emails come from GMail and also Sky.com and both arrive OK. but last week I lost emails which I had read but I had left them in my inbox for me to deal with later. They just disappeared. I have requested Yahoo mail (sky.com) if they can retrieve them and they have said if it is possible I will receive them within the next 8 hours.

Missing email, seems common with Gmail and Sky.com.

II wouldn't care to say "missing". They seemed to have been accidentally or whatever, "hijacked." lol.

I've used both W10 Mail app and Windows Live Mail 2012. Currently using WLM 2012 due to same reason as OP, W10 Mail app hasn't listed all my emails from day 1. Maybe OP could login to Yahoo or Gmail websites and not use W10 Mail app. Maybe OP could add their other email account to Gmail website, so all their emails could be viewed from the Gmail website (I haven't tried this).
