SOLVED Error With Windows10 Icons

Left clicking on start button and notification button does not work. Other icons on taskbar (word etc are working). Also icons on desktop are working with left click mouse button, but not with right click. Tried different mouse same results. Just get spinning circle.

There are a number of things that can cause the symptoms you are experiencing. So your particular issue can be a little tricky to resolve.

In the first instance though, Microsoft have created a special troubleshooting tool that specifically targets the Start Menu and Cortana. It would be worth giving that a try first.

The third try at attempting to install windows10 anniversary edition worked and solved the problem. It apparently corrected the corrupted installation of windows 10
