SOLVED Have an app that requires IE6 or later to run

After installing W 10 I found that I have an ap that requires IE 6 or later to run. Can I install IE with W 10 and if so, how do I do it and where can I get it?

Hi @Burley, welcome to the forums. Windows 10 already comes with Internet Explorer 11 .

Which app is it that you are trying to run, as if it talks about IE6 then it may be quite old and have other compatibility problems (then again, it may be fine!).

Microsoft Money Plus Sunset. I can't find ie on windows 10. I have run search and all it did was connect me to IE on line.

I had the same problem.....
Do a google search for IE6 download.
Download IE 6 < and click to install. (you will most likely get an error message & the install fails.
Ignore the error.
RESTART WIN 10 & try Money again.
No promises but it worked for me on two different machines.

I used the registry edit found on MS's answers site, change the following entry to the following. Worked fine so far for me without any obvious side effects.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer]
"Version"="9.11.10240.0"  (originaly: 9.11.10240.16384)
