Don't know what you need from the Desktop but you can right-click the Taskbar and at the top in Toolbars add the Desktop item to the Taskbar and when clicking the little double arrows will show a list of everything on the Desktop, it'll be next to the Notification Area which holds the clock. Or right-click the Desktop icon in File Explorer and choose Pin to Start, haven't yet found a choice for Pin to Taskbar.

The "desktop" is an element of the Windows environment that we all think of as containing our chosen background and some icons.
To view that, is simple enough....
There is a tiny sliver of the taskbar to the far right past the notification icon, clicking that with expose the desktop and minimize all open Windows, clicking it again will return the windows that were open.
IF you have the "Peek" feature enabled in "taskbar setting" simply hovering over it will show the desktop although I've never found that part of the feature all that helpful.

The "desktop" is also a container within your user profile, so it would be good to know which particular thing you're setting your sights on.
