Well.......
As an upgrade, it was pretty much a disaster. Universal Apps, would open and crash (close immediately) no error, however interestingly enough their associated live tiles seemed to work flawlessly, for instance the Weather App and the Photo App, live tiles worked fine but when I opened the actual app it would close promptly or in the case of the Weather App it would just set there with a nice blue window and never populate.
On the upside......
I wiped it (shift -> F10 -> DiskPart -> Select Disk 0 -> Clean) and performed a clean install and it seems to work pretty well across the board, no more glitches with the Universal Apps at least.
Just bypassed the product key screen by clicking the I don't have a key link and finished the install and it activated as expected so no problems there either.
