Installed fonts not listed or working properly

I love installing new fonts onto my laptop and when Windows starts, the fonts are not listed when I use Word or Excel.

But, when I re-installing the fonts, the message "font already exists" appears.

Why is this happening and what do I need to do to stop this happening?

I am running on Windows 10 upgrade and have used the laptop for 4 years

It may just be that you need to reboot your PC. For whatever reason, I've found the same thing happens in other applications I use - sometimes I can just restart the app itself, after installing the font. Other times, I need to restart the PC entirely.

If that is something you've already tried, please let me know and I'll dig deeper.
