Lost all my links from the task bar

I had about 15 links to my most used programs sitting on the taskbar but for some reason this morning every single one is gone. They're easily replaced but I just wonder why they went.
I uninstalled an old T Mobile dongle but aside from that have not made any changes to the computer. It's my very first glitch with this computer, any suggestions anyone?
