Network Adapter

I had recently tried to fix my slow Wi-Fi on my laptop. My friend had told me to uninstall my Wi-Fi and adapter re-install it. I uninstalled it but couldn't reinstall. I then reset my laptop and then my wifi icon turned into a box with a x in it. I then go back to device manager where I unstalled the driver and the option Network Adapters wasnt there anymore.

How do I get Network Adapters back and reinstall Wifi adapter to connect to the internet

P.S. When I press the box that use to be the wifi icon, the only thing that shows up is airplane mode.

do you have a driver disk that came with your laptop?. What is the make and model?.
