Keeping in mind that this is aimed at the pre-Creators Update build

    Cool.... thanks Griz
It seemed like a weird issue and while not particularly catastrophic, still not a good thing to have your update history wiped.
Nice to know it doesn't or at least didn't on your machine.

I know this will not come as an update to those (Most on this forum , possibly?), using 1703, but, I do not wish to experiment, but what are the results if you do download this separately, and try and install it over 1703. Does it reject it or reinstall the older OS?

Just a guess, but I would suspect that you would get one of those.... "This update is not intended for your installation" or something similar. Basically a "does not apply" type thing.
It's been a while since I've actually done something like that so it's just my best guess.

    August 28, 2017—KB4039396 (OS Build 14393.1670)

This update includes quality improvements. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key changes include:

    • Addressed issue where Update History and hidden updates are lost and a full scan for updates happens after installing OS Updates 14393.1532 through 14393.1613, including KB4034658. Installing this update will not restore past update history or hidden updates for users who have already installed the listed updates. However, this current update will address this issue for users who have not yet installed them.

    • Addressed issue with WSUS update metadata processing that can cause some clients to time out with a 0x8024401c error.
If you installed earlier updates, only the new fixes contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.

My update history has been wiped several times.
The last up 19-2017 2017-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4034674) wiped everything, including, the Anniversary and post anniversary update history. I'm currently running Windows 10 Pro version 1703(OS Build 15063.540)

Further on Windows updates wiping history, I extracted this from the log. It actually deleted 31 so called expired updates.
    "2017-08-19 09:41:49.7498384 3020 4744 DownloadManager [0]0BCC.1288::08/19 /2017-09:41:49.749 [agent]PurgeExpiredUpdates::Found 31 non expired updates.
I don't know if deleting update history varies from machine to machine.

    October 10, 2017—KB4041691 (OS Build 14393.1770)

This update includes quality improvements. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key changes include:
    • Addressed issue where the Universal CRT caused the linker (link.exe) to stop working for large projects.
    • Addressed issue with form submissions in Internet Explorer.
    • Addressed issue with rendering a graphics element in Internet Explorer.
    • Addressed issue with docking and undocking Internet Explorer windows.
    • Addressed issue caused by a pop-up window in Internet Explorer.
    • Addressed issue where a vendor API deleted data unexpectedly.
    • Addressed issue where SD propagation stops working when you manually trigger Security Descriptor propagation (SDPROP) by setting the RootDse attribute FixupInheritance to 1. After setting this attribute, SD propagation and permissions changes made on Active Directory objects don't propagate to child objects. No errors are logged.
    • Addressed access violation in LSASS that occurs during startup of domain controller role conditions. A race condition causes the violation when account management calls occur while the database is refreshing internal metadata. A password reset or change is one of the management calls that may trigger this problem.
    • Addressed issue where USBHUB.SYS randomly causes memory corruption that results in random system crashes that are extremely difficult to diagnose.
    • Addressed issue where the ServerSecurityDescriptor registry value does not migrate when you upgrade to Windows 10 1607. As a result, users might not be able to add a printer using the Citrix Print Manager service. Additionally, they might not be able to print to a client redirected printer, a Citrix universal print driver, or a network printer driver using the Citrix universal print driver.
    • Security updates to Microsoft Windows Search Component, Windows kernel-mode drivers, Microsoft Graphics Component, Internet Explorer, Windows kernel, Microsoft Edge, Windows Authentication, Windows TPM, Device Guard, Windows Wireless Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Microsoft Windows DNS, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Server, Microsoft JET Database Engine, and the Windows SMB Server.
If you installed earlier updates, only the new fixes contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.
