As of 2 days ago I can't get past the lockscreen using what I know IS the correct password. It keeps telling me that it is incorrect. I have tried to reset my password. I was finally sent a code and then asked for recent email subject lines. I do not use Outlook for email and do not have any recent email subject lines. I therefore do not have enough information for my password to be changed. I only have the Outlook account for the lockscreen.

I am really needing to be able to use my computer.

I have not been able to do an online chat with MIcrosoft as I do not have a password. Is there anyway to bypass the dang lockscreen? I have called Microsoft but the message said to log onto Outlook.... doh.

That lockscreen is gone once this gets figured out.

Have you tried using a Web Browser on another working device and going to
outlook.com
AND logging in with your user name and the password that you know is correct?

At this point, the only thing that I can suggest is that......
You might be able to rescue your computer by enabling the normally hidden / disabled Administrator account and use that to possibly fix the password problem on your local user account.
You'll need to boot from the installation media. If you do not have the installation media on hand you can download the ISO from here
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/techbench
Once you have the ISO, you can use ImgBurn to burn it to a DVD or Rufus to burn it to a USB ThumbDrive, either of which you can use to boot your computer.
THEN...
Follow the steps outlined here
