If you downloaded and ran the Windows 10 Technical Preview exe from the Microsoft site without realising that it wasn't the ISO, you may have been prompted to upgrade your existing version of Windows to Windows 10 via Windows Update.

To prevent this from happening, you'll need to uninstall once the more recent updates (KB2990214). To do this, open Windows Update and click "view update history", then click "installed updates". From here you can search for and remove "KB2990214".

Once that is removed, you should no longer be prompted to upgrade to the technical preview :).

I've got two Clean Installs going - one from an older i3/z77 board and one from a newer FX. I've got one on Auto-Update (ugh - I can't believe I do that but, oh well) and the other is only manual.

I want to see if I can also download a better descript of any (all) updates into a log-file so I don't have to go back and read web-blobs (that's sometimes all they are - blobs by some non-conversant humanoid that doesn't say exactly what the patches correct).
