Suddenly " Computer " will not open ...

I'm running W10 with no problems however over on my W7 Hp Desktop when left click Start button the programs panel appears showing " Music / Pictures / Default Programs / Control Panel " etc after click on " Computer " ... or short cut on desktop ... it will not open ... have right clicked on empty desktop to go to " Personalise " and the desktop icon is ticked ... by opening a folder on desktop then to left navigation pane access to " Computer " can be achieved ... any ideas what has caused this problem and how to have it return to normal ... thanks ...
