SOLVED Suddenly I can't arrange the icons onthe desktop

Suddenly (probably after an update) I can't arrange the icons on the desktop. Actually I can, but whenever I turn the PC on, reboot, or refresh the desktop, they move to the right side of the screen (my system is right-to-left) as large icons. The auto-arrange is turned, of course, off. Can someone help? Microsoft help desk are useless in this matter. They don't know a thing (at last in my country). I'll be grateful for an advice.
