I began with installing Win 10 TP in a vm , then switched to dual boot and discovered the silliness of using vm at all.
Today, I took a plunge, removed the dual boot setup and installed win 10 TP over the existing OS which was Win 8.1.1 Pro.
Installation went without a hitch.
Made my first restore point.
Ran a sfc, and as expected, sfc reported corrupt files and unable to repair.
During installation I chose to keep my pc settings, instead of keep nothing as I used to choose. That was a good decision. My settings and programs are untouched. Didn't have to reinstall the programs I had in Win 8.1.1 Pro.
So far, it runs very well.
