SOLVED Why does "*(1).*" etc not work in Windows 10 search to find duplicates in, for instance, the Downloads folder?

See title. I'd like to think I'm pretty good at google-fu, but have yet to find an answer to this particular use case.

I'm sure there are far better ways to find duplicates, but I don't understand why this quick search finds all kinds of other files that definitely do not match the description of [star](1).[star].

Turns out, I wasn't using "[star](1).[star]" WITH quotes.. It works if you include the actual quotation marks in the query. Solved.
