When you were running the Media Creation Tool, did you select " Create installation media for another PC " ?

If not, go back and do it. That is to create an ISO file.
After that, right click at the ISO file > click Mount > click Setup.exe.
Installation will begin. It will allow you to keep your files, settings and apps, or you can choose to "keep nothing".
It will not require a product key.

I used that method to install Win 10 Pro over my Win 8.1.1 Pro.

But of course, doesn't everyone? And it's not quite that simple, one has other choices to make such as x86, x64 or Both for the .iso or a choice of Bootable USB drive which also allows x86, x64 or Both. If using the Both choice one has to keep in mind the .iso will be over 6GB and if creating the Bootable DVD will need the DVD+R/DL disc. For the USB and Both it will need to be 8GB or larger and will be automatically reformatted as FAT32 but only up to the 32GB limit of the format.
