SOLVED Windows Prefetch folder

I stumbled across a folder, "This PC > Windows 10(C: > Windows > Prefetch" and was rather surprised to find 244 files plus a folder, "ReadyBoot" with six more files.
I know what prefetch is but this seems to be an awful lot of files.
Are they really necessary? What's you opinion?

My Prefetch Folder has 263 files and ReadyBoot Folder with six files and the size is only 17.3MB. Not causing any problem so I just leave them. But I have a 1TB hard drive so no problem of size on disk.
