Anybody else notice the new windows store icon in the taskbar and start menu.

I have always had it in the start menu, but I don't have it on the taskbar by default.

Yes, that change occurs in the Insider Preview/Test/BETA version [both Taskbar and Tiles] on one of my computers, not in the RTM version.

I'm not running the insider preview or any other beta/test. I'm running a retail version. But glad to see that I'm not alone with this.

What exactly are you guys saying here. That it is a new picture. new item or...

I have had this in my start menu for a while (first picture), and my wife's computer, still running 15063.674, picture 2 ???

I may, some time ago, have removed it from the task bar

I'm saying that yesterday my store icon was the old white color.....then it just turned into the new looking one like the one you posted. Then checking the store for updates, I see where the store was modified (updated) that day.

The odd thing is the colors of the squares seem very close to Google Chrome's colors.

Is this a hint Microsoft and Google are getting into a marriage?! Or will we see litigation all over the news while Google goes after Microsoft for trade infringements.

I just checked 4 other computers [2 I'm setting up for our animal shelter] and 3 have the black 'panes' on the icon and 1, which has never accessed the Store, has the colored 'panes'.

I'm still sporting the plain Jane white bag, I'm one version shy of the Fall update.
Yet another anomaly.

Bif I have 2 identical PCs. A daily user and a standby. My daily user updated to the Fall edition last week. Yesterday I decided to update the second PC, all I got for updates was a cumulative update, Windows Defender and Abdobe updates, No Fall Creator update, like you I can wait it out.
Personally, I don't seem to be missing much with the Fall update, but, it is running smoothly, not a glitch to date.

Maybe you could try resetting it in the settings Apps?

the change happen to me after the MS apps (including the store app) got updated. No need to log in to the store.

Same as Grizzly. Another mystery! Somewhere along the line, although my wife is still on the pre Fall OS, she must have got an update for icons - or whatever.
The first is mine, the second my wife's

I did a brand new install with the latest image of W10 (1709) and still had the old white one!. I removed it from the panel anyway as I don't want to use it!.

Edit: I spoke too soon, after an update I also now have the new icon!.
