Windows 10 and Word 2007. I have two printers on my system, an HP Deksjet Pro 8600 and an HP LaserJet Pro 400. I set the LaserJet as the System default in the Devices and Printers dialog box. However, Printing to DeskJet in Word, changes the System default printer to DeskJet. I have to go back into the control panel to reset it to LaserJet. How can I stop this?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
The problem may not have anything to do with Word.
Click the Start Button and choose Settings, click Devices
Under the section labeled "Let Windows manage my default printer", turn off the "When turned on, the default printer is the last used printer".
See if that fixes the issue.
