Office WORD 2007: Curser Gone Berserk After Automatic Windows 10 Upgrade

After Windows 10 upgrade, the Word 2007 program already installed on my PC has been acting weird. Specifically, the page curser controlled by the mouse flashes constantly and simultaneously between the verticle "I", the blue circle and the arrow normally used for selecting options.... All this is happening as the curser is moved around the page by the mouse or is stationary on the page. How do I fix this?

I think it might help if we knew what was producing the cursor.
If it's a laptop, then the Manufacturer's Name, Model Name, Model Number (complete).
If it's a desktop then the specifics on the mouse..... Manufacturer's Name, Model Name, Model number, how it's connected (USB or wireless)
