My computer is running Windows 10 home. All updates installed 28.10.2016.

I have a Microsoft Office 2007 Word Document that I cannot delete!

I have tried restarting in safe mode, but either way I get the same error message shown below.

I cannot run the Microsoft office diagnostics, it will not work with 2007, only office 2013.

I did run Microsoft Office Diagnostics, but no problem found.

Could I add that the Word document I am trying to delete is buried five deep in folders

The source filename(s) are longer than is supported by the file system.

Try moving to a location which has a shorter path name, or try renaming them to a shorter name(s) before attempting this operation.

If you are using more than one of the following receivers in the same location you can change the remote control frequency so that the remote control commands do not conflict.

Type: Microsoft Office Word Document

Size: 11.6 KB

Date modified: 27/10/2014 23:02

Any thought or tips how I can remove the file would be very much welcome.

I will add that I have also tried to rename it to a shorter name, but I get the same error message.

The problem is fixed.
I was told to try:
rename the file to: xx.doct
I could then delete it :)
Many thanks all,
Barry
