Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 junk mail problem

Hello all, I am using MS Office Outlook 2003 for my email. When I select junk mail it does a very nice little blue circle
for several (5-10) seconds. This is getting annoying. Does anyone know of a fix or a newer Outlook I could use?? Thank
