Hi
I have one doc format. But Microsoft Office Word doesn't recognize it.

First off welcome to the forum!...
Secondly, you may very well have to arm wrestle our illustrious administrator for the avatar that you two share.
Thirdly, could this document be protected?..did you password protect it when you drafted it and saved it?

Can you Copy the file to a Thumb drive and view it on a different computer? If it doesn't have Word one can use the free LibreOffice, does well with Office documents. There also used to be a free Word Viewer but I see today it has been discontinued by Microsoft, fortunately for me I had downloaded it some time back.

If one doesn't want to install LibreOffice they have a portable version.

He says he has version 2016.in his post. It should recognise docx, but, in the installation process, you can opt out of xml - that could be the problem.
He can reinstate it through the add-ins

W10 is used by some to denote Windows 10, personally I prefer the shortcut of Win10. And it could be important to have the full information as in Version 1709, Build 16299.98.

I think his problem is with Office, not the OS, As far as I am aware, any Word doc, if able, will open with that program, regardless of which OS it is installed in, but I may be wrong.

This issue may occur if you try to open a file that is located in a redirected folder that has been set by group policy, or you try to save a file to a redirected folder that has been set by group policy. For additional information, read info here http://www.word.repair/
