A neighbor here in Mexico found a great bargain a pawnshop. A VERY expensive, high-quality Android phone with scads of goodies, still in the original box (probably shop-lifted) for $41 US.

After she added a bunch of minutes, it ate up $47 worth because she had unknowingly set it for roaming charges.

An easy mistake to make.
Something similar happened to me when I bought my first 'not so smart phone'.
I was on payg at the time and £10 disappeared overnight.
Nobody told me to turn the data off when not using it!
