Accessing boot menu

I have an HP Pavilion running win 10 pro. I believe to access the boot menu I need to strike the Esc key. When I try that it just ignores my input and does a full boot up. Any thoughts?

Try F10

I have an HP Pavilion Gaming PC, and Esc brings up the boot menu and recovery. F10 brings up the bios/uefi. You can change the boot order under boot options from the bios/uefi.

Keep hitting the key quickly while booting. It's hard to time it right if you just press once.

Thanks the F10 worked but ESC is still not. Another question. I want to use a USB to boot from but it does not show up as a bootable device. Is there anyway anybody knows to add it?
