Automatic Downloads: Possible To Disable ?

Any way (yet) to disable any and all automatic downloads
from Microsoft, HP, etc. ?

Several ways if you have Pro version if not have a look in Settings/Update and Security/advanced options. I'm really not sure what is available in the home version

I have not had any trouble with the regular monthly updates. Ever. But I know some people on some machines do. I am more careful with the twice a year ones and check those out on a separate machine first.

There used to be a registry hack that would do the same thing as Group Policy Editor. If you have experience with editing your registry, here's the link. Do it at your own risk. And again, I don't know if this still works. I don't have a machine with the Home version.

As to "any" MS has a tool call show/hide where you can again hide an update or upgrade
