Hello:

I've just changed my browser (I'm trying Vivaldi) and Windows 10 (Build 10586.218, 64-bit, Pro) will not set anything as my default browser! When I click on the grayed box with a + sign, it allows me to choose a browser, including Vivaldi, but when I choose it (or any of the other choices), it remains a grayed box with a + sign! Very frustrating!

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have had the same problem a couple of times, I managed to make a selection by first selecting 'Internet Explorer' which worked, then selecting my choice ........ worth a try

Right click the Start Button (windows logo, bottom left of screen in taskbar) and choose Control Panel from the context menu.
Top right corner change the "View by:" drop down from Category to Small Icons
Open "Default Programs" icon
Select "Set your default programs" link
Give it a minute to populate
Select Vivaldi from the left column
Then click the "Set this program as default" link at the bottom and click OK.
That should do it.

Thanks for the follow-up.
Glad you were able to resolve your issue.
Bold move, using Vivaldi.
I was an early beta tester for that browser and was not overly impressed, however I see that they now have an official release https://vivaldi.com/ version 1.0
Perhaps I'll give it another look-see. It certainly looks good.
Although their 64 bit version still says "Experimental".
