Can't open any videos since Windows 10 upgrade

Since I upgraded I cannot open any videos in My Videos or play any videos on the net at YouTube for example. If I try to open a home video file from my Video's folder I get this message every time. It does not give any suggestion how I might install a new version, nor what app it is referring to. Additionally, ive just discovered that I cannot play any music either. Seems the sound has gone. Any ideas?

To solve all the video problems simply install PotPlayer or VLC player...I personally prefer PotPlayer,it will play any video format and has a gazillion things you can tweak to get it exactly the way you want it.
I realize 10 should do all of this already but alas it does not.
Give PotPlayer a test drive!

I was a staunch VLC user for years but when introduced to PotPlayer I was very impressed then and equally impressed today..a VERY good piece of software.
