can't open PDF file ' too long name'

I wonder if anybody can help me. I can't open some of the PDF ffiles on my client's server. an error message come on stating that the ' file name is too long'. i can open other files with short name without any problem. I have tried to copy and paste the file on my desktop so I can rename the file but without success. also tried to right click on the file and open it with fox-it or MS PDF reader but this did't work either. if tried to rename the file or open it with another software the page goes simply closed and and desktop opened. in conclusion,

I think you can use a simple tool. Long Path Tool. It will help you a lot.

I)f the suggested program does not fix it, try this.

Right click the file and select "Send to".
Send it in an Email to yourself.
When you receive it, save it as and shorten the name.

After the last windows update, I can open the name file in Foxit. However, I will try ' long path ' tool. amny thanks for your help
