SOLVED Chrome browser

ok i had a thread going with help keeping only the shortcuts i wanted in the new tabs i open up on the chrome browser. so one of you had me rename the chrome to chrome.bak and then delete the browser and reinstall it. well the was a wash. i did it today at 8am and at 11:30am i'm still reinstalling my passwords and sites used and i still have the same thing so in doing that little excersize nothing changed. so i will for get it and just deleted the damn things when they show up.

i did not just use the chrome browser. when id id this little excersize i did gt hat browser that was mentioned but i have it open tabs and so that normal chrome is not there. so what i needed was a way to stop the shortcuts form setting in the tabbed browsing i do. i guess it is not possible to do.

Did you delete this other thread ? I cannot find a thread on this forum discussing shortcuts and tabs, as well as any suggestion to rename Chrome to Chrome.bak

In terms of shortcuts on a new tabbed page, if you hover mouse pointer over an unwanted shortcut you'll see three dots in top right corner of the highlighted border of the shortcut. Click that and then you can click Remove, to get rid of unwanted shortcuts. Any remaining shortcuts you actually want will be left unharmed.

i did not delete it but i renamed the chrome name in the user and admin folders to chrome.bak and then removed chrome and reinstalled and after spending hours doing it i got the same sa88t back and so i just said solved. i have been down this road already and it is not working so i'm calling it solved. nothing changed but now i have to retype all my passwords that chrome had saved so that set of instructions caused me and will cause me hours of extra work as i got to all the sites i visit during the month.

i do not use the page that looks like the actual chrome browser. i have tabbed browser that win10 show. when i open the browser i get yahoo and ebay for startup tabs and then if i click the x for a new tab i get a blank page with all the little shortcuts in it. i posted a picture of what i see and got tons of ideas and not one has worked. so now i got into the habit of just going to the little x in the upper right corner and removing that shortcut. i have come to the conclusion that this can't be done. thanks so consider it a closed thread. as i will not pursue it further. thanks
