Disabling SOME windows hotkeys

I would like more keys available to put 'proprietory' links on (using Autohotkey). When I tried the method shown in
https://www.top-password.com/blog/disable-specific-windows-key-shortcut/ to free up keys-for-windows-shortcuts, there were keys for which that did not work. The method involved adding to the 'value data' of Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Disabled Hotkeys, the letters I want to free up. Is there a more reliable method ?

I do not need to free up keys, as Autohotkeys frees them up itself. I unwisely posted the question on an assumption without testing first.
