Downgrade to Win 7?

Hello guys! I have a little question: I bought my Dell notebook and it had Windows 8.1 Home SL pre installed. I used it for a couple of months until I recently upgraded to Windows 10. I wonder if there's anyway to downgrade it to Windows 7 ? I mean, will my Windows 8.1 key that was valid to activate Win 10 work on Win 7 or not?

I realize this may be a dumb question, but it's something I really want to know, cheers!

No. You can only "Go back to Windows 8.1 " which is what your computer is pre-installed with.

There is no downgrade path from Win 8.1 to Win 7 either.
You will have to buy a genuine Win 7 license and do a Clean Install over your Win 8.1.
