SOLVED Email Files Disappear

I was back from a two day break and switched on my lap top to catch up on my mail.After first deleting the junk file I went to my inbox and opened my first two messages and moved them two the relative file. as I was about to open the next message I had a pop up which I felt was not of interest so closed it, shortly after my window closed and the icon at the bottom disappeared? going into action centre icon it told me to reconnect the drive as my file history drive had been disconnected for too long? A message I do not understand. Can you help?

So far as Outlook Express and missing emails goes. I thought Outlook Express was discontinued.

If you are still using it though, then a guy posted a reply explaining how to recover missing emails in Outlook Express here:

Many Thanks, I have converted to Windows Live and recovered the Icon, all is now well.
