I don't see my problem discussed anywhere, so here is my question:

I replaced my HDD and did a fresh Win 10 install. After installing all my programmes, the File Manager automatically open every time I boot the computer. It only started happening after I installed most of the programmes.

None of the remedies on the internet seem to help. Anyone?

In Task Manager, Startup assure that File Explorer [renamed from Windows Explorer] is not set to open with Windows, Disable it. It is entirely possible one of the program installs is the issue, might make it difficult to find.

For nostalgia folks, there is a rendition of File Manager from Windows 3.xx/WFW 3.xx floating around the Internet that works on Win10 and Win11:

Thanks for the prompt response, Bighorn! I did all that already, even checked the Autoply settings, but to no avail. I ended up reinstalling Windows (keeping my files and apps) and now everything is back to normal.

Thanks again!

PS: Loved that old version! :)
