Games starts lagging after 3 or 4 minutes,

Its like 5 months, since any game, start lagging, I am really sure that I have played it for months and everything was going well and smoothly, until now, its start lagging and freezing. Any help would be appreciated.
I was playing Dragon ball xenoverse 2.

Is your cpu fan working or your video card fan if it has one.
Sounds as if it could be overheating.

If you go into Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and click Performance, firstly check the Up Time. If it has been on for many days, give it a couple of restarts until that counter hits 0 again.

Next thing have a look at the Memory, if that's using the majority, you could have a memory leak somewhere.

Third check the disk space, have a look at 'This PC' and see if you are running low. If you are it might be good to clear some temporary files which can be done from Windows 10 settings > System > Storage.

On any machine these are good places to start!
