How do I create a shortcut on my desktop with Windows 10?

I'm struggling to work out how to create a shortcut to websites I frequently use on my desktop, previously it was simply a right click on a blank area in the window but that no longer works! help me out someone please. Robin.

The most easiest way it to go to that icon on the left of the URL. Click and drag to bottom right (show desktop) and drop it onto the desktop

I normally use IE.
If we are talking about Edge, then the only option that I can find is in the 3 dot ellipses (settings) button, Pin to Start.
