DESKTOP USB wired, ty for your welcome
While I'm here I wonder if I may ask another question, I have McAfee as antivirus, last week I was attacked by bad Malware, I installed the free trial version of Malware Bytes & has come to the end of the trial, it did get rid of the malware but the pop up that seams to be showing all the time is pup.optional.babylon would you know how to get rid of it as I would rather not pay for another antivirus program. Thank you in advance Yvonne

pup stands for Potentially Unwanted Program in Malwarebyte-speak. I found it useful to buy Malware bytes as it does find things that some anti-virus programs do not find. I use Windows Defender and Malware bytes to keep my PCs clean. After using McAfee in a corporate environment I would not have it on any PCs I own...same for Norton.

Ty Tim, very helpful but I understood that Windows Defender doesn't function if a antivirus is installed

Windows Defender is an antivirus...some say not as good as some but it, like others, gets updates once or twice a day which is good. I don't use any other antivirus. Just Defender and Malwarebytes.

Thx again Tim, I've just been searching how to turn on my Windows Defender, do you think it's because I have McAfee installed, I will go ahead & buy the Malwarebytes but will that not cause the same problem not being able to turn on Defender?

Yes try using
These are the programs I use to generally delouse a computer with virus and or malware issues.
ADWcleaner from here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/dl/125/
JRT (Junkware Removal Tool) from here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/dl/131/
Norton Power Eraser from here https://security.symantec.com/nbrt/npe.aspx
Malwarebytes from here http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/confirm/
SuperAntiSpyware from here http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE
Ccleaner from here http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
TFC.exe (Temporary Files Cleaner) from here http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/
ESET Online Scanner from here http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/
Eset online scanner is a bit different than the others in that you need to either use
IE or download and run their smart installer if you're using another browser. Then tick
the radio button that says "Enable detection of potentiall unwanted application"
Then click the link that says "Advanced settings", then check all the boxes except the
one that mentions "Use custom proxy settings", unless of course you're using a Proxy
Server. Then just click "Start", it will do a thorough system scan so it takes a long
time.
I don't check the links above everyday, so if you have any problem with any one of them then just Google for the program name but use the site names that I have recommended since I'm relatively certain they are free of extraneous garbage.

Thnx again Trouble have bought the Malwarebytes premium (should solve my popups etc) but I still can't figure out why my keyboard is not accepting the numbers lock in Windows 10, I have a desktop PC & the HP keyboard is USB connected

First of all, let me say that Malwarebytes premium is an excellent program, I was one of the lucky ones who took advantage of the lifetime license for something like $20 bucks that they offered a couple years back and have been running it on my machine along side of the native Microsoft "Defender" (formerly Microsoft Security Essentials) for a long time, but.......
As is often the case with any single anti-malware / anti-virus it is not 100% bulletproof and you may still encounter the occasional PUP, getting through.
In the list that I provided above, I think you will find that ADWcleaner paired with JRT (also by Malwarebytes by the way), will often serve well to augment any realtime protection you are using as on demand scanners.

Regarding your issue with your HP keyboard (wired / USB).....
Examine it and see if it has a particular model name and number. Most USB connected keyboards will work generically and simply out of the box, however;
Some (often called multimedia keyboards) may require a driver / software package to make them fully functional.

You may also want to see if you can get your hands on another USB keyboard for testing purposes just to check and confirm that there is nothing wrong with the cable and connector on the keyboard or the USB port you are using on the computer.

Wow..... so much for the easy solutions.
Have a look at this registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard
Check the value in the right pane for
InitialKeyboardIndicators
If the value is set to 1 (one) you need to change it to either
0 (Num Lock is turned OFF after the logon)
OR
2 (Numlock is turned ON after the logon)

See if that helps

Trouble u have been a great help, after searching around in the keyboard options (control panel) I noticed that there was a box checked to "use the numbers lock to move the mouse around the screen" that was the problem all along, after unchecking the box the calculator & numbers lock is working fine now.
