SOLVED Installing Bass & treble (equalizer)

Does anyone out there know whether installing subject is a matter of downloading software or is it a hardware issue. Previous searches suggest it is software but downloads seem then to only apply to something with "mobile" in the title and have no apparent use? A further example of what I mean would be the "DTS Audio Controller"

Why don't you go to the manufacturers website of your sound card and look there??
Also look in the properties of your sound card. On occasion you will find there settings for Treble and Bass although not every sound card has that (mine does not - SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio )

Have little idea what a sound card is or how to find name of manfr. - contacted someone in Microsoft support recently who again provided link to something (app?) in the MS store which only seems to apply to something called mobile devices. Kept ref. no for conversation but putting into search area on MS support draws a blank.

Successfully downloaded an equalizer from SourceForge.com, it's highly complex with "gain", pre- amp, 15 slider controls etc. might try reading the instructions some time - it worked well with voice recordings with excessive bass distortion but would have preferred just bass and treble.
