I recieved the following dark blue screen: ***STOP: 0x000000e2 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
kbdhid.sys.-Address 0x94efd1aa base at 0x94efb0000
Date Stamp 0x4a5bc705
kbghid.sys MANUALLY_INTIATED_CRASH
It advises me to call Windows Support at 1-800-656-2051
I did not call this number because I have always heard that Microsoft does not make this request for a call.
I think i may have been infected with some false virus scam.
Anyone seen this before, or have a solution? Anyone know if this is a valid Microsoft Windows support telephone number?

Welcome to the forums Harold.

Good judgement on not calling that number - that certainly sounds like a scam to me. Do you have any anti-virus software installed? I'd be sure to run that ASAP!

When does this error message appear, is it when doing anything specific?

You can do a one-time scan of your PC using ESET from this link if your existing anti-virus doesn't detect anything:

I'd also download and run the free version of MBAM:

I ran Webroot SecureAnywhere v9.0.4.7 and it found nothing, I ran SUPERANTISPYWARE Free Addition, and it found many tracking cookies and 1 malware program. I ran the removal tool but it came back.

Do you know what the malware program was called?

Did you run MBAM and ESET from the links above?
