Lost laptop cursor

I probably posted to the wrong thread earlier. I eagerly installed windows 10 to replace my hated 8. As soon as it installed, I lost my cursor. This is a laptop and not a touch screen so all I can do is helplessly look at the screen. Help!

I did finally figure it out. On the sign in page - the only one where the cursor works, I clicked on the bottom right button and held down shift while hitting restart. It gave me 3 recovery options. I chose the 1st one where it allows you to keep any documents. This laptop is relatively new so not a lot of icons to reinstall. Cursor now works but other things don't. And now I can't revert back to 8. I'm going to try a complete reboot back to factory settings and start over and kiss 10 goodbye until much later
