Suddenly cannot open... error message "class not registered". Blank blue screen appears but cannot open or close.

Have you by chance been modifying and system files, or altering the registry? Try this remedy, which will correct and errors caused.

Right click the Start menu and select Command prompt (Admin). Copy and paste this and run it. It will take a while
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth . (There is a space after "dism", & "online" & "image")
