How do I stop edge from loading microsoft rewards when my computer first starts. I don't even like edge. Chrome is my default browser. Also I do not want rewards. I unsubscribed to rewards but it didn't help. Ridiculous. Does anyone use edge?

click on the three points in the upper right corner (. . .) and scroll down to settings.click on it.
the change setting as follows:

remove any webpage links and replace them with about:blank (don't forget the colon between about and blank)

from here on, Edge will open with a blank page...

If Edge is not your default browser why does it start when " my computer first starts." ??? Sure does not do that here.

Hi mikie123,

have you checked to see if Chrome is your default browser in settings?. :):):)

I cannot offer much, as, if I go to the awards site
https://account.microsoft.com/rewards?refd=support.microsoft.com

I get this:

Microsoft Rewards is not available in this country or region

But as Wolfie says, have a double check to ensure you do have Chrome as your browser.

I understand the awards message popups, if you are not a normal user of Edge - a kind of advertising spam

Yes Chrome is the default. I renamed this directory Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe and Edge is history. Still very strange.

Hi mikie123,

have you also checked Task Manager to see if Edge is disabled at start up?. (Right click and on disable if necessary). :):):)
