Microsoft S Series controller does not show up in Device Manager but works, sort of

Having moved country and hence not used my PC in 2 months and bought a new monitor I thought of testing it with a game. The Xbox controller seemed to work but not well. I went to Device Manager to update its driver and it is not there. The only controller listed, under "Xbox 360 Peripherals" is my other one: Wireless Gamepad F710 (from Logitech). I used an online app to test it and all was OK. I also downloaded some Xbox related stuff from the Microsoft store and I could see it working there. However, as said, I feel it does not work as it should and why then isn't it ion Device Manager?
