MS EDGE: Can't create/save a favorite to a New Folder..

Once I am at a web site I want to save.... I click the STAR to save it. I then at the SAVE IN prompt I click FAVORITES and then I click NEW FOLDER..... then, instead of giving me a box to type in the new folder.... it automatically creates a new folder called NEW FOLDER... and forces me to save it there... if there is a folder called NEW FOLDER... it will create a folder called NEW FOLDER (2)... or (3) etc.

I have cold booted PC
Microsoft Edge 41.16299.248.0

Also... IF I then click and try to save it to one of the NEW FOLDER items... the Box to allow me to type in a folder name DOES appear.... ????

You must give it a name in the top line.

When you have done that, click the "favourites" Then you will see another "favourites bar"
I believe, reading your post, you may have got that far.
But, at this stage, delete the default "New folder " and type in the name you wish.
Now, do NOT select "create a new folder" but just "Add"
